How it all began
A few years ago God spoke to one of his followers as he was walking home from a railway station and noticed some homeless children sleeping under newspapers. The man asked of God “Who will care for these little ones?” and God's response was "You will." So with the blessings of his wife, children and mother, Jacob took in the first members of his new, extended family.

Jacob describes his experience: “The Lord has led me in faith to reach out to and care for these children. Through absolute faith in God, we undertook the provision of holistic care, including nutritious food, decent shelter and medical care for basic survival, as well as education and overall nurturing in the love of Jesus. In offering parental care we strive to bring them up in the Christian faith as God’s own children. My prayer is to see all these children one day serving God, by spreading his gospel in this land.”
Since that day in 2004, when he first brought a couple of children into his home, to live among his own family, the number of abandoned and orphaned children Jacob has taken into his home has continued to grow. As word spread, more people in need appeared at his door. Jacob’s “family” continued to grow and renting a second house seemed the only solution. Yet all this loving kindness was carried out by faith; Jacob’s family had no outside support. (Shepherd’s Fold India is a not for profit, government sanctioned, registered and certified agency in India).
