Pure & undefiled religion before God & the Father is this: to visit orphans & widows in their affliction....James 1:27
Meet our children
The change in the children, once they join the family, is evident in their smiles, laughter and behavior. They love to sing and dance, and often participate in pageants and performances for local celebrations. Homework is a daily activity after which they enjoy a variety of games; two of their favorites are caroms, a sort of shuffleboard board game and cricket. With their “Grandmother” Martha, they eagerly join in daily prayer and singing sessions.

On this page you’ll find profile of just a few of our 28 children.
You can see photos of all of them in the family gallery.

Soujanya's huge transparent smile reflects her inner joy, but does not reveal the sorrows of her young life. Both her parents were AIDS victims. As a result, she and her family were ostracized by her entire village, including family and friends. A rural pastor, who knew of the situation, brought Soujanya to the Fold, which at the time was simply a gathering in of homeless, starving children under the care of Jacob’s family. Soujanya is one of the earliest members of this ever-growing family. She is an excellent student in grade 6.
Another AIDS orphan, Sunny Bob and his brother became child laborers after their father died. At the time he was merely five years old, but in order to eat, he had to work. He is often ill, and may be HIV positive. Otherwise he is a happy and active 8 year old boy, who enjoys playing and is good at keeping up with his homework.
Not much is known about John. It is believed he was born of an upper class lady who abandoned her then 6 month old baby in a public park. John was discovered by an aged night watchman, who attempted to care for him, but not long after became bedridden. The watchman’s family looked after the boy until 2005. John bears the marks of severe beatings and abuse, but today he is a pleasant and happy child of the Fold, doing well in the 7th class (grade).
Vijaya's father died before she was born, the victim of a road accident. Her mother then poisoned herself, leaving Vijaya in the care of a 70 year old grandmother in a slum colony. This little girl ate only what she could beg from others. At age four she joined the Fold and now wears a happy smile all the time. She is studying in the 3rd level, enjoys games and the love of her new family.
